Supervisor London Breed Visits Breakthrough

Wednesday, August 7, 2013

Breakthrough welcomed District 5 Supervisor London Breed to our program on July 25. A San Francisco native who grew up just down the street in the Fillmore, Supervisor Breed has a lot in common with our students. She spoke with our rising eighth graders about the importance of working hard in school to expand your future options - and also to be of service to your community. The long-time executive director of the African American Art and Culture Complex, she was elected to the Board of Supervisors in November 2012 and, in her new role, has made it a top priority to increase opportunities for kids and families in San Francisco. Breakthrough thanks Supervisor Breed for her time and inspiring words, and for all her service to the city.
