Breakthrough extends our deep appreciation to the Danhakl Family Foundation for its investment in our growing postsecondary success work. DFF’s $100,000 grant will help us ramp up advising for our college students, engaging in conversations on course and major selection, belonging, finances, and self-advocacy, and helping students access relevant resources on and off campus. The grant will also fund career exploration work, enabling our students to access summer internships and resume and interview coaching, to be best positioned for the job market. We’ll also expand micro scholarships to help our students cover the cost of school fees, textbooks, transit, and other essentials.

While our students are making it to and through college, their journey isn’t easy. 85% of our students are the first in their families to attend a four-year college, and the challenges are significant – whether adapting to life away from home, succeeding academically, affording school, or making informed decisions about their major and career path. We’re excited to provide even more comprehensive support in the years ahead, helping our students thrive and earn their bachelor’s degrees. Thank you to everyone at DFF for investing in our students’ college dreams.
