The application to volunteer as a tutor in Breakthrough’s after-school program is available now!

After-School Program

The after-school tutor commitment is one afternoon per week – Mon, Tue, or Wed, from 4:30 – 6:30 pm (or 4:30 – 5:30 pm for eighth grade tutors). Our spring 2024 program will run from the week of Feb 12 through the week of Apr 15, 2024. Tutors must commit for the entire semester, including a training session the evening of Feb 7 and a mid-semester check-in and take-home assignment.

After-school program tutors are matched with a small number of our fifth – eighth graders, providing homework help, building organizational skills, and supporting them with enrichment completion. For this opportunity, we welcome applications from adults, college students, high school students, and eighth graders at Breakthrough and SF Day.

The virtual tutoring commitment is one hour per week over Zoom, according to your availability, from Feb – Apr 2024. You’ll be matched with one of our high school students who needs support in a specific subject. For this opportunity, we welcome applications from adults and college students.
